WARRINGTON Collegiate student Ele Ball is celebrating being selected for the Ludus Youth Dance Company, the North West region’s flagship youth dance company.
Ele, 19 from Orford, studies Performing Arts at the college, and had to go through a rigorous selection process before being chosen as one of the 17 young people to join the prestigious dance company.
“Over 100 people applied and the standard was really high so I was delighted to get through,” said Ele. “This is a fantastic opportunity for me to take part in some of the most exciting and imaginative performances, both in theatres and out in the community with some of the North West’s most talented young dancers.”
Ludus is an exciting and dynamic company that aims to create and perform innovative and influential youth dance, drawing together some of the brightest young talent from across the country.
Rachael Nelson, Dance Lecturer at Warrington Collegiate, said: “Ele has done incredibly well to get into Ludus, in the face of intense competition from dancers from the whole of the North West of England. She will be able to complement her studies at Warrington Collegiate through further training and performance in a wide range of dance and choreographies.
“Ele was one of the stars of our recent very successful dance event, TRASH, at the Pyramid in Warrington.”
After completing her qualification at Warrington Collegiate, Ele is planning to go onto higher education with ambitions to get into the acclaimed Laban Centre, a school of contemporary dance based in south London.
