Flat fire under investigation

FIRE crews wearing breathing apparatus entered a smoke-filled flat at Warrington early today to ensure no-one was trapped in the property.
The blaze was at a first floor flat in Budworth Avenue, Westy and four fire engines from Warrington and Stockton Heath were sent to the scene.
One main jet and two hosereeljets were used to bring the fire under control.
Two firefighters in breathing apparatus worked their way through the flat, while another worked with a hose reel jet from a seven metre ladder outside.
Another firefightersworked from the next door property, damping down through a loft hatch.
In the kitchen, the ceiling was removed as crews searched for hotspots of fire.
Debris was turned over and removed through a first floor window where it was again turned over to ensure there were no remaining hot spots.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
