BIRCHWOOD Community Fire Station is holding a free open day on Saturday (September 7) between 10am and 4pm.
The station, on Ordnance Avenue, will open its doors to showcase the many and varied ways firefighters and support staff are working hard to help residents stay safe.
Crews will re-enact a rescue following a road traffic collision and the cadets will be showcasing their drills.
Other attractions include modern fire service vehicles, Go-Karts and smoke tent demonstrations.
Refreshments will also be available including ice creams and hot dogs from the Firefighters Charity.
Organiser, Matt Kindon, said: “I think many people would be surprised at just how much the modern fire and rescue service does to prevent and deal with emergencies. We’re really proud to have this opportunity to show the people of Birchwood and the surrounding area how their community fire station works hard to keep them safe”.
