DETECTIVES at Warrington are appealing for information after a pensioner was assaulted outside his home following a road-rage type attack.
The incident was yesterday (Wednesday) at around 7pm.
A 73-year-old man pulled onto the driveway of his house in Gregory Close, Great Sankey when a white van pulled up outside.
A man got out and punched him to the face, breaking his tooth and splitting his lip.
Words uttered by the offender at the time of the assault lead police to believe this was a road-rage attack.
The suspect is described as being 30-40 years of age and approximately 5 ft 4 inches tall and of a chubby build. He had short light brown hair. His white van had ladders on the side.
The victim was left in shock following the unprovoked attack and sustained significant injury.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC Nick Talbot on 101.
