RESIDENTS across Warrington are being given a chance to meet the borough’s health chiefs.
Warrington Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is organising the event at the Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub on Wednesday, September 11.
The day – fully open to the public – will be split into three parts.
A “meet and greet” marketplace event will start at 9.30am, the CCG annual general meeting will follow at 11.30am and the CCG governing body will meet at 1.30pm.
The marketplace session will showcase health services on offer across Warrington, bringing together representatives from more than 30 partner and third sector organisations including the CCG, Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Trust, Warrington Borough Council, Public Health England, Healthwatch, Warrington Older People’s Group, Cheshire Police, Arthritis Care and Live Wire.
CCG chairman Dr Andy Davies (pictured) said: “This is a great opportunity for local people to come and meet the CCG team responsible for buying health services in Warrington, as well as speak to the many different organisations that provide those services and learn more about exactly what’s on offer across our town.”
Following the marketplace event, the CCG will be holding a small annual general meeting (AGM), reviewing the organisation’s finance, highlighting key achievements over the past 12 months and looking at plans for the future.
In the afternoon, the CCG’s governing body members will come together for their bi-monthly meeting to discuss official business of the organisation including everything from policies to which services are being commissioned.
Dr Davies added: “All our governing body members are local people, so they all have a real interest in making sure that healthcare services for the people of Warrington are the best that they can be.
“I would encourage anyone who would like to find out what the Clinical Commissioning Group is about and how decisions are made to come and attend one of our meetings. We welcome the opportunity to answer public questions, so please do let us know in advance if there’s anything you would like us to help you with.”
Anyone who would like more information about the events or to submit a question to the governing body should telephone Paul Steele on 01925 843774 or email [email protected]
The agenda and papers for the meeting will be available at www.warringtonccg.nhs.uk in advance of the meeting.
