WARRINGTON Town marched into the first qualifying round of the FA Cup with a

convincing 5-0 victory over Winsford United, with all the goals coming

in the first half, with debutant new signing Scott Metcalfe firing home

in under 20 seconds!
James McCarten (pictured top) made it 2-0 in under five minutes with Ciaran Kilheeney adding a third on 15 minutes as the visitors from the North West Counties Premier Division were completely over whelmed.
Liam Dawson added the 4th on 24 minutes firing in from outside the box and when McCarten rose to head home his second on 35 a complete rout looked on the cards., with Warrington having two other goals chalked out for offside.
But the visitors managed to stem the flow going in 5-0 down at the break and despite having Andrew McKernon red carded early in the second half, the 10 men dug deep and managed to keep Warrington out for the rest of the game.
Warrington now move into the first qualifying round when they will face New Mills at the HG Driver Recruitment Stadium in a fortnight.
But before then they face them in a re-arranged league game at the HG Driver Recruitment Stadium this coming Tuesday (Sept 3) kick off 7.45pm.
