FIREFIGHTERS used a hose reel jet to extinguish a kitchen fire at a house in Myddleton Lane, Winwick, Warrington.
The blaze involved a electric oven and it was necessary to isolate the power supply before the fire was put out.
The oven was removed from the property as a safety precaution.
In another incident, fire crews were called to Linnet Close, Orford, Warrington.
A wheelie bin was ablaze and a hose reel jet was used to put the fire out.
Police were informed as it was believed the fire had been started deliberately.
