Cyclists ride for St Rocco's

FIFTEEN cyclists raised more than £5,700 for St Rocco’s Hospice with a 21km ride over the Great Orme.
The team was inspired to raise funds for St Rocco’s by team members Julie Humphries and Neil Clucas, who lost their dad, Albert Clucas earlier this year.
They cycled from Llandulas to Llandudno, climbing to a height of 285 metres.
Julie said: “The Great Orme ride was an immense challenge and one which was made even made even more difficult by the heat – over 30 degrees Centigrade! But we wouldn’t have missed it for the world – it was an amazing day.”
Julie and Neil had very personal reasons for choosing to raise funds for St Rocco’s.
“We were inspired to do the Great Orme challenge for St Rocco’s after our experience of the wonderful care given at the hospice,” said Julie.
“The time we spent as a family at St Rocco’s with Dad was one of the most difficult of our lives, but the whole families’ journey was made much more bearable by the wonderful support and care we received from staff at the hospice.”
“Sadly, we lost mum Cath Clucas too only a few weeks ago, which makes the challenge we’ve just completed even more poignant. We are so grateful to all those who supported us and helped to raise such an amazing amount. Their support will help to make a real difference to all the patients and families cared for at St Rocco’s.”
