WARRINGTON Town have announced that Steve Saunders, Simon
Rudge and Andrew Moore will be the manager and coaches for their new
reserve team.
As a schoolboy Saunders represented Boteler Grammar School, and Warrington Town and in 1981 became an apprentice at Bolton Wanderers, turning pro in 1983.
Other clubs included Preston North End, Grimsby Town and Scarborough, before finishing his career in non-league football with Runcorn, where he was a prolific goal scorer.
Rudge was an ex professional at Bolton with Saunders and then went onto to play for Altrincham and is currently part of the youth set-up at Warrington.
Moore (moz) – is a well known figure in local football spending years as Crosfield’s manager and brings a great deal Cheshire League knowledge.
Director of Football Toby Macormac said:” I’m very happy with the appointments. It has been a longer than anticipated journey to get the right people but I feel that Steve, Simon and Moz will bring the young players through at the same time as bringing some experienced older players in to look after them.
“The experience they will bring is first class and will take our new reserve side forward. I’d like to thank all those that applied and especially our Reserve and Youth Secretary Geoff Bell for all his work.”
