Volunteering strategy launched

A NEW volunteering strategy for Warrington has been launched.
The document, launched by the Warrington Partnership, sets out plans to make sure volunteering is encouraged in all its forms – and acknowledges it can make a big difference to people, organisations, communities and businesses.
Cllr Kate Hannon, the borough council’s executive member for leisure, community and culture, said: “Volunteers already deliver a wide range of activities across Warrington. This strategy aims to build on existing strong partnerships as well as creating new ones to ensure a vibrant base for volunteering across the whole of the borough.”
Steve Cullen, from the third sector partnership, said: “Volunteering achieves significant social and economic benefits, not only for the volunteer and the organisation they are placed with, but also the beneficiaries and service users of the charities, community groups and statutory service providers.”
The strategy can be viewed on the council’s website at www.warrington.gov.uk
