FORMER leader of Warrington Council Ian Marks has been elected as the new chairman of Lymm Parish Council for the coming year.
Cllr Marks, who has served on the Parish Council as a representative for more than half of his lifetime, takes over from Cllr Peter Powell.
He said: “My first task is to find a new Clerk because sadly our current one, Geraldine Reynolds, has had to resign for health reasons.
“One of my objectives is to continue to support local projects where these will be of benefit to the Lymm community. In the current climate money is tight but careful spending on worthwhile schemes is the right thing to do for the future development of our village.”
Cllr Marks was previously chairman in 1991 and was also leader of the borough council.
