A NEW facility is opening at the Warrington Deaf Centre to celebrate Deaf Awareness Week.
The new “Equipment Aids Room” shows off the latest equipment on offer which can assist people with a hearing loss to live independently.
Examples include telephone amplifiers, vibrating alarm clocks and watches and the most up to date hearing loop systems.
This is the first facility in Warrington solely focused on hearing and sight loss equipment, services and support. The equipment is the most up to date available and feedback from existing service users is extremely positive.
Cllr Pat Wright, the borough council’s executive member for health, wellbeing and adult services, said: “This is a fantastic development for services in Warrington and we are delighted to be able to be the first in the area to offer this type of tried and tested equipment to support independent living for people with hearing loss.
“This resource is the result of brilliant partnership working between the council, Warrington Deaf Centre, Warrington Hospital audiology team and the deaf community in the town.”
Residents who would like to see what’s on offer in the equipment aids room should Dave Taylor on 01925 443979 for more information.
