WARRINGTON community and well-being group LiveWire got its first birthday celebrations off with a splash when they hosted an “aqua festival”.
Held in conjunction with the annual Swimathon at Woolston Neighbourhood Hub., the event started with 200 purple ducks being handed out to people attending the morning family splash session.
Woolston Library, Sure Start and Stronger Together provided arts and crafts, badge making and “messy play” and Warrington Wolves’ mascot Wolfie dropped in to take part in “Family Aqua Zumba.”
He also joined LiveWire’s lifestyles team on a specially branded bus offering advice on weight management and how to stop smoking.
Swimmers raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care swam up to 2.5km in the Swimathon.
Vicki Dunning, LiveWire’s area leisure manager said: “It has been a fantastic day enjoyed by all. Over £250 was raised through our cake sale and more money is due to come in through various donations for Marie Curie.
“I am pleased LiveWire Partners joined us to help celebrate the day and kick start LiveWire’s first birthday celebrations in style.”
The celebrations will continue until May 18, finishing with an open day
with free party bags and 1p activities for all.
