MEMBERS of Glazebury Cricket Club are being asked to turn out this weekend – not with bat and ball but with spades, forks, wheelbarrows, paint brushes.
The job is to get the Hurst Lane ground ready for the coming season which starts at the end of the month.
The square, the outfield and the pavilion will all need attention and the weather forecast is good.
Glazebury will be back in the Cheshire Alliance this summer, after one disappointing season in the Cheshire Cricket League.
A combination of poor weather, missing players and lack of form resulted in the club performing far below their best in the higher league and led to relegation.
But a bounce back up again is not ruled out.
Cricket starts – with spade and fork
