Management school launched

A SCHOOL of management has been launched at Warrington to provide a range of flexible undergraduate and postgraduate courses to lead students on their chosen career path.
The Warrington School of Management (WSM) is sited at the Fearnhead campus of Chester University and strengthens the university’s position as a provider of high-quality business education in the area.
Working closely with the university’s Chester Business School, WSM builds on the existing business provision on the campus.
It will offer undergraduate and postgraduate programmes with a professional focus and services for business.
A new appointment has been made to lead the WSM. Professor Lawrence Bellamy is a professor of supply chain and enterprise operations management and joins the university from Leeds Business School.
He is a chartered engineer with a background in both manufacturing and construction industries, a chief examiner for the Engineering Council and senior assessor for the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply as well as being a fellow of the Academy of Higher Education.
His research interests lie in the study of processes and their relationship with realised strategy.
Around 2,000 students study at the university’s Fearnhead campus which focuses on delivering programmes in the creative industries such as TV and radio production and sports journalism and public services including nursing, social care and policing.
