LATCHFORD Police Community Support Officers Tom Reid and Tony Spruce are celebrating after picking up a special award for the annual VPX event at Victoria Park which provides free entertainment for youngsters during the summer holidays.

They were presented with a special recognition award from Live Wire & Culture Warrington managing director Jan Souness at the annual Warrington Sports awards held at the Orford Jubilee Hub.
The award recognises the work Tom and Tony have done in organising the annual Victoria Park Experience (VPX) a project which provides four days of free sporting activities for people of all ages to take part in during the summer holidays.
During the past five years Tom and Tony have expanded the event to include over 20 activities.
Last year’s event was attended by nearly 3000 people from across Warrington and Cheshire many who have continued to participate in sports on a regular basis at some of the local clubs that support and are promoted at V.P.X.
Tom and Tony are currently working with many partner agencies to ensure V.P.X 2013, which will be held each Tuesday in August on Victoria Park, between 11 – 4, will be even better than last year.
