Man attacked by gang

A MAN was taken to hospital after being attacked by a gang of six thugs near a Warrington park.
Police are appealing for information about the attack which took place on a pathway between Longbarn Lane and Kingsland Grange, close to the entrance to Woolston Linear Park.
The 60-year-old victim was walking along the path at about 4.50am on Tuesday, February 19 when he was approached by the six men.
They attacked him and then left the scene.
The victim was taken to Warrington Hospital suffering from severe bruising but was later discharged.
Police say the offenders were about 5ft 9 inches tall and were wearing beanie hats. One was wearing a reflective bomber jacket and had a rucksack on his back.
PC Yvonne Lawless said: “We are appealing to anyone who has any information in relation to the incident – or the identity of the offenders – to come forward.
“This would appear to be an isolated incident and we are committed to doing everything we can to tracing those responsible.”
