Arts ambassadors wanted!

1

THE search is on for Arts Ambassadors of all ages to spread the word about all the exciting activities and events held at Warrington’s Pyramid & Parr Hall, Museum and Art Gallery and cultural events across the town.
Culture Warrington has been inundated with requests from people who want to do their bit to promote cultural activities in Warrington so due to popular demand they’ve set up a unique scheme to ensure arts lovers are the first to know what’s going on in Warrington.
Arts Ambassadors will play an active role in the development of arts in the town by telling people what’s going on in Warrington through word of mouth, social networking and any other tricks up their sleeves to shout about events and exhibitions held at Warrington’s premier arts and entertainment centres.
The role offers the chance to gain new skills in an arts environment and get advanced information about forthcoming shows, plus hands on opportunities such as greeting people at shows and events and helping to discover what type of entertainment Warrington residents would like to see in the future.
The Culture Warrington team want your views on what you’d like to see happening at your local arts venues and ideas of what shows you want to see in the programme.
There are great incentives for Arts Ambassadors including holding interviews, writing reviews, watching rehearsals or being mentored and the regular catch ups offer the chance to socialise and network with fellow arts enthusiasts by attending monthly meet ups at venues across the cultural quarter.
Julie Scott, Life Drawing Tutor at Pyramid said: “Being an Arts Ambassador is a good opportunity if you’re passionate about promoting the culture that Warrington has to offer. It also looks great on your CV and the skills you gain from the role will be attractive to potential employers.”
Gemma Johnson, Culture Warrington Manager said: “This is a great opportunity to promote Warrington and raise the profile of the many arts and heritage events that are held in the town. It also gives people the chance to build confidence and meet new people”.
To enter send a short paragraph about yourself and why you’d make a great Arts Ambassador along with your contact details to [email protected].
Closing date is Friday, February 15, to get applications in.
