Petrol tanker in fire alert

THREE fire engines were called to the M56 at Stretton, Warrington after reports of a petrol tanker on fire.
Appliances from Warrington, Stockton Heath and Knutsford wene to the scene, including a foam tanker.
Fire crews used a hose reel to cool the brakes on the vehicle and it was confirmed the alert had been caused by overheated brakes.
Police controlled traffic on the eastbound carriageway of the motorway near Junction 10 during the incident.
