A NEW £2 million office building for property giants Morris and Spottiswood has been formally opened at Warrington.
The new building – Garrett House – is at Birchwood and will become the “nerve centre” for the Scottish-owned company’s fit-out, housing and maintenance operations across England and Wales.
Company chairman George Morris officially opened the new centre.
He said: “This is a huge moment for our business. This investment is a statement of intent and aims to catapult us further into the nationwide market for our services.
“Our ambition is to ramp up our sales in the North West, England and Wales to 50 per cent of turnover from its current position of 25 per cent. We think Warrington and the North West is a terrific location.
“There are great skills and transport infrastructure here and there is an extensive property industry supply chain. These are the building blocks of our future success combined with our extensive contacts and our well established track record.”
Mr Morris said the new building set “absolutely the right tone” reflecting the progressive ambitious outlook of the business and its staff.
“We are one of the prime operators in our field in the UK,” he said. “Our client list reflects that.
“The calibre of our workforce and work reflects that. We work with some of the biggest names in banking, retail, leisure, social housing and the public sector. And it is exactly those sectors we will be targeting for more growth.
“Our new management team in Warrington are now leading the charge to promote our company and win business with tremendous passion and purpose. Ten years after we first began working in England today feels like we have come a very long way but the best is still to come.”
