A MAN has been arrested following an early morning police raid on a property at Warrington.
The 19-year-old was arrested at an address in Denver Drive after police found a quantity of suspected cannabis resin in the property. This was taken away for forensic examination.
The man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possessing the drug with intent to supply and was later freed on bail pending further enquiries.
Sergeant Gordon Jack, of Warrington West Neighbourhood Policing Unit, said: “This latest warrant is part of ongoing efforts to tackle the issue of drug related crime in the local community. We will not tolerate any sort of behaviour that has a negative effect on the lives of others.
“The warrant was executed as a result of information from members of the public. We hope that the efforts of local officers will reassure the community that we are listening to what they are saying and taking action where necessary.
“Information from members of the public is vital in the fight against drug related crime. We would urge anyone with any information in relation to drug use and supply in the town to get in touch.”
Anyone with any information about illegal drugs in Warrington is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101. Information can also be passed on anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
