Cyclist attacked and robbed

A 29-year-old man was attacked and robbed as he cycled along a road at Warrington.
He was taken to hospital for treatment for bruising and swelling to the front and back of his head following the early morning attack on Woolston Grange.
Now police are appealing for information about the 5.30am robbery on Thursday, October 18.
The victim was cycling along Woolston Grange when he saw two men sitting on a bench near a children’s play area.
They engaged him in conversion – and then one of them hit him on the head, knocking him to the ground.
His ‘phone, keys and wallet were stolen and the offenders fled the scene.
Police describe one man as 18-21, with short hair and wearing a black tracksuit.
The second was of similar age, with longer hair.
DC Stephen Deehan of Warrington CID said: “This incident resulted in the victim requiring hospital treatment.
“We take all incidents of this nature extremely seriously and will do all we can to trace those responsible.
“We appeal for any witnesses to come forward to police.”
