An evening with the Halle

MUSIC lovers are in for a treat with an evening of classical favourites played by the Halle Orchestra and Friends.
The Rotary Club of Newton and District Jubilee is staging the Classical Music Evening from 7.30pm on Monday November 26 at Culcheth Sports Club, Charnock Road. There will be a guest conductor for the final stages of the concert and funds will go to Rotary charity work.
Tickets priced £10 are available from the club, Rotary members or by telephoning 01925 764370.
The club’s recent Culcheth beer festival was a great success and raised £5,000 to benefit good causes. More than 600 people attended sampling beers, ciders and wines in a convivial music-enhanced atmosphere.
Generous sponsorship enabled the club to increase the numbers of beers available from 30 to 45.
A Rotary spokesperson said: “A big thank you to all our sponsors in particular to The NatWest Bank, Barclays Bank and Hunter Healy accountants whose staff gave valuable assistance manning the bar throughout ‘opening hours.’ This support proved invaluable.”
