WARRINGTON Town manager Shaun Reid has swooped to strengthen his squad by signing former Blackburn Rovers youngster Zac Aley.
Reid (pictured) described the left sided defender/midfielder as a “very promising player and a good addition to the squad.”
Aley progressed through non-League club Southport’s youth system before breaking into the first team, scoring on his league debut against Farsley Celtic.
While at Southport he gained BTECs and NVQs and also became a qualified referee.
He signed for Premier League club Blackburn Rovers in March 2010 after a two-day trial and made one first team appearance.
He joined League Two club, Morecambe on loan for a month making his debut in the 2–1 home defeat against Macclesfield Town when he came on as a substitute.
After being released by Blackburn he rejoined Southport.
