Woman robbed of mobile phone

POLICE in Warrington are appealing for information following a robbery when two men attempted to steal a 25-year-old woman’s handbag and made off with her mobile phone following a struggle.
The incident occured at about 8.40pm last Friday (September 7) when the woman was returning to her car at the rear of the Marsh House Lane shops, adjoining the rear of Marsh Street Garages.
She was approached by two men who demanded she hand over her handbag. When she refused, one of the men tried to grab it.
The two offenders were then disturbed by a member of the public and fled on mountain bikes in the direction of Gorsey Lane.
The victim then realised her mobile phone, which she had dropped in the incident, had been stolen. She suffered a bruised wrist in the incident.
The first offender is described as white, aged between 18 and 21, about 5?8″ tall with a slim build and brown eyes. He was wearing a black hooded top with the hood up and is believed to have had shaved hair. He spoke with a local accent.
The second offender is described as white and was wearing dark clothing.
Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who saw two men acting suspiciously in the Marsh House Lane area.
