Warning after pumping station raid

POLICE have issued a warning to the public following a burglary at a Warrington pumping station.
Between 11am and noon on August 23, thieves forced their way into the Woolston Pumping Stationon the Manchester Ship Canal and tampered with the electricity supply before stealing a number of metal items.
PC Paul Scott said: “We would like to warn members of the public that they are not to enter station site under any circumstances.
“Tampering with the station electricity supply is extremely dangerous and could result in death or serious injury.”
Anyone with any information about the burglary should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
