BRITISH Transport Police have issued a CCTV image of a man at Warrington Bank Quay Station who they wish to question in connection with the theft of a suitcase.
The incident happened at about 10.35pm on Thursday, August 9, on-board a Wolverhampton to Glasgow Virgin Train.
PC Dan Armstrong said: “As the train pulled in to Warrington Bank Quay a man left the service carrying a suitcase belonging to another passenger.
“Investigations have shown the man waited for the train to leave the station before making his way from the platform and out to the taxi rank.
“We believe he used an X-registered Peugeot taxi to continue his journey and I would like to speak to the taxi driver to see if we can piece together the thief’s movements.”
PC Armstrong added: “I would also like to speak to the man in the CCTV image as I believe he has key information in relation to the theft.”
Anyone with any information about the incident, or who recognises the man pictured, should call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
