Town draw a blank

WARRINGTON Town kicked off their season in front of the biggest league gate of the day as they were held to a goaless draw by Ossett Town.
With nearly 300 in the ground Warrington dominated for long periods of the game but couldn’t find their way through a resolute Ossett defence.
Manager Shaun Reid handed out eight starting debuts from last season, with only Liam Shipton, Michael Reid and Kevin Townson (pictured top) in the starting eleven from last season, with Rob Hardwick on the bench.
Townson saw one effort cleared off the line after rounding the keeper as Warrington were continually frusrated..
In the second half former Rochdale striker Lee McEvilly (pictured right) added some strength to the Warrington attack and in the closing stages saw a thunderbolt smack against the upright and bounce into the grateful keepers arms.
Warrington are back in action when they travel to Bamber Bridge on Tuesday, kick off 7.45pm.
