Soccer club host family fun day

WARRINGTON Town FC opened up their newly named Abacus Solicitors Community Stadium for a special family fun day.
Supported by local Community Police Support Officers Tony Spruce and Tom Reid, who help co-ordinate the weekly VPX events on Victoria Park, each Tuesday throughout August, youngsters got a chance to test their footballing skills, including a speed test on their penalty kicks!
Club Mascot Ollie the Owl and his friends from Warrington Disability Partnership were on hand to run a popular tombola.
Tony and Tom brough along their community police vehicle and finger print kits which also proved popular with youngsters.
Community Development Officer James Standing, pictured right with Ollie and members of the club’s junior section,said: “I would like to thank everyone who supported the event,especially Tony and Tom,who are doing some great work in the local community.”
