Students encouraged to show enterprise

A GRADUATE from the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy is encouraging students to join its courses at Warrington Collegiate this September.
The academy, set up by Peter Jones of “Dragons Den,” aims to help aspiring entrepreneurs to achieve their dreams by providing courses in enterprise and entrepreneurship
Dean McGonagle (pictured), 18, from Great Sankey, graduated this year from the Oldham academy. He started at the intermediate level and progressed to the advanced course.
He said: “At school I decided that I wanted to be a multi-millionaire and didn’t want to go down the classic university route to get there. I was always passionate about starting my own business and didn’t want to do a normal college business course so the academy was perfect for me.”
Dean enjoyed the demanding hours, thriving on studying 9-5 as well as running his own event management company and diversifying into event and business marketing.
He said: “The academy taught us that being young does not prevent you gaining business success and that you don’t take no for an answer. It’s been a winning formula for me.”
Dean hopes to expand his business interests into a global company.
He said: “I’m off to Malia in Greece soon to manage a club promotion over there and I just can’t wait to get my name out there.”
When Dean comes back to England in September he has pledged his support for the new academy at Warrington Collegiate and has promised to drop in and share his experiences and expertise with new students.
