WARRINGTON Town manager Shaun Reid saw his side crash to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division side Marine during a pre-season friendly at Cantilever Park.
The visitors fielded a strong side including a number of players with Blue Square Bet Premier experience. Goalkeeper McMahon was in good form with Warrington forcing a number of good saves from the stopper all night.
Town went behind in the 7th minute through a goal from striker Rogan. On 18 minutes, some neat footwork inside the area from Grice put the visitors 2-0 up. On the half hour Fowler fired Marine further in front.
Warrington couldn’t get through a strong Marine defence which was solid all night.
After making two changes at the break, Warrington fell further behind as Fowler grabbed a his second and Marine’s fourth of the night after 50 minutes.
Reid introduced a further five players throughout the half as Town grew stronger but could not find a consolation goal with striker Ash Ruane (pictured) causing the most problems in the Marine defence.
Warrington now welcome Ashton United to Cantilever Park this Saturday (July 28) kick off 3pm.
