AN action-packed week of events to mark the 21st anniversary of Disability Awareness Day starts in Warrington town centre today (Saturday).
An Arts Showcase in the Old Market Place, Golden Square, from 10.15am to 4.30pm, will launch a week of disability-related events. Events will be officially-opened by the Mayor of Warrington at 10.25am.
The day will feature disabled artists and friends of DAD, including, the nationally acclaimed “The Heroes” pop group who have reformed especially for the 21st birthday of DAD. Carly Ryan from “BBC Autistic Superstars”, ELLA – from Halton Speak Out, Stars Drama, and female vocalist Hollie Caddock will also perform.
The program is 10.30am Hollie Caddock, 11am Woolston Singing Choir, 11.30 ELLA Dance and Drama, 12noon Carly Ryan, singer and 12.40 So Many Words Theatre Company.
At 1pm Phil Edwards will give a short talk on Disability Awareness Week. Events continue with Warrington Singing Choir at 1.15pm, 1.50pm The Heroes and at 2.30pm Stars Drama.
Hollie Caddock performs at 3pm, Cottage Theatre Company 3.30pm, at 4pm there is the chance to join in Fun in Zumba and at 4.30pm local singer Amy Rose will entertain.
