Charities chosen for Oktoberfest

CHARITIES being supported by the 16th annual Oktoberfest beer festival in the town have been announced by organisers Warrington Rotary Club.
Charities named are Warrington Sea Cadets, Active Hope, Life Education, Ronald McDonald House, Grappenhall Youth and Community Centre, St Rocco’s Hospice and Brainwave.
Two international charities, Excellet Developments Sand Dams Projects and Mary’s Meals will also receive funding.
Jim Melville, club president, said: “Once again Rotary will be organising your local beer festival for good causes. We invite the support of people from Warrington and its surrounding areas to make the event a success to help people most in need.”
Members voted for the chosen charities.
The dates of the Oktoberfest are October 11 to 15 and it will be held in the Parr Hall.
