MOORE United Veterans secured the Cheshire Veterans Division Three title in their first season together with a 5-1 victory over Burtonwood.
A brace from Gary Heath was supported by strikes from Sean Harris, Kris Taylor and Dave Holmes with Heath also finishing as the division’s leading scorer.
United lost only one game all season and management duo Toby Macormac and Scott Taylor both agreed the players have been consistent all season with Taylor remarking after the victory: “The players have shown great consistency all season and were looking forward to testing ourselves at the next level next season”.
Macormac who retired from playing after the game said: “Its been a fantastic season for everyone involved and adding the League Title to the pre-season tournament victory is the icing on the cake, I’m bowing out on the back of title success so what more can I ask for. I’d like to thank my assistant Scott for all his help and hope he wants to step up next season.”
