New junior RL club

A NEW junior Rugby League club is being launched in the Padgate area of Warrington.
The Oakwood Steelers will be training on Thursday evenings throughout the rest of this year and also hope to play a few friendly matches before entering a league in March next year.
Secretary Phil James said: “We currently have three experienced coaches who are all accustomed to training young children.
“Our aim is to provide competitive junior rugby for children currently in school years 4, 5 and 6 who want to play but, for one reason or other, cannot find a club to play for or who may be intimidated by joining an established club.
“We shall be playing and training on the pitch between Street Street and Oakwood Avenue, just off Gorsey Lane or Orford Road.
“Ability is not as important to us as enthusiasm and dedication.”
The club is also seeking local companies interested in offering shirt sponsorship.
Training starts on May 31 at 6pm.
Further details are available from Phil on 078059 16040.
