ENTRIES are now open for a new 5k fun run to be held as part of Lymm Festival.
The off-road Olymmpic 5k is being organised by Lymm Runners running club and Lymm Festival and all entrants will receive an “Olymmpic” medal.
It will take place on the final day of the festival – Sunday, July 8 at 11.30am and is open to anyone aged 11 or over.
The run is completely off-road and begins and finishes at Lymm High School where there will be refreshments for runners and spectators from the school’s PTA.
All entrants will receive a T-shirt, which they will wear when taking part, and an Olymmpic medal.
There will also be prizes for the first male and female senior (16 and over) and junior (11 – 15) winners.
Kieran Walshe, vice captain of Lymm Runners, said: “In this Olympic year we have joined forces with the festival to include a fun sports event that everyone, whatever their ability, can take part in.
“Although we will have a clock at the finish line there is no pressure as times will not be recorded.”
Entry for the race is £8 for people aged 16 or over and £6 for those aged 11 to 15. Entry is limited to 300 runners and can be done online at: http://lymmrunners.org.uk
