Old records to be archived

OLD minute books detailing the proceedings of Stockton Heath Parish Council are to be restored and archived by the Cheshire County Archivist in Chester.
The records will remain the property of the parish council and, under the Freedom of Information Act, will still be available to members of the public.
Members of the council agreed to the move after hearing that some pages of past minute books had deteriorated – particularly for the year 1976.
The County Archivist will do the work at no charge.
Meanwhile, the parish council is to purchase a fireproof cabinet for storage of remaining records.
