A MAN was taken to hospital at Warrington after suffering the effects of smoke when fire broke out at his home.
The blaze was in the kitchen at the property in Dale Lane, Appleton.
By the time fire crews from Warrington and Stockton Heath reached the scene, the fire, caused by an overheated chip pan, was out.
Crews isolated gas and electricity supplies before leaving the property.
In a separate incident, fire crews from Stockton Heath went to a property in Hobb Lane, Moore, where fire had broken
out in an integral garage. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used dry powder extinguishers to tackle the blaze.
A ventilation unit was used to clear smoke from the property.
