EIGHT potentially dangerous barrels of chlorine gas, stolen from a truck stop near Warrington, have been recovered by police.
The sealed barrels were in a trailer stolen from the Poplars 2000 truck stop on the M6/M56 interchange at Lymm yesterday (Tuesday). The trailer was found abandoned earlier today on the A34 Stone Road in Staffordshire.
The gas barrels were still in the vehicle intact.
Earlier police had warned that the gas could be harmful, or even fatal, if it came into contact with someone or was inhaled.
Police are continuing to investigate the theft.
