Search for a special posy presenter

1

THE search is on for a very special posy presenter – to be involved in the Queen’s visit to Warrington in May.
Borough council chiefs want to find someone who was present when the Queen first visited the town in 1968 – when she visited shortly after Warrington was designated a “New Town” to inspect Bridge Street, which had just been renovated through an initiative organised by Warrington Civic Society.
This year’s visit will be the Queen’s third to Warrington.
She was in town again in 1979 to open the then new Golden Square shopping centre.
Anyone who was present when the Queen was in Bridge Street in 1968, or who knows someone who was, should contact the council’s communication’s team on 01925 443322 or by emailing communications@warrington.gov.uk
Further information about the Royal visit will be released closer to the time by Buckingham Palace.
