MORE than £800 was raised by members of The Clandestine Cake Club of Warrington for Marie Curie Cancer Care Tea Party campaign held at Grappenhall Cricket Club.
Marie Curie is the only charity that The Clandestine Cake Club (CCC) supports and when local organiser Helen Rimmer received a request to arrange a fundraising event she was positive the bakers of Warrington were up for the challenge !
The Cricket Club kindly donated the venue, the members of The CCC offered to bake, donate raffle prizes and help out on the day and Violets Vintage Teas donated all the vintage china and dressed the room for the occasion with spring cloths, bunting, gorgeous china and pretty tea cups filled with spring plants.
Ruth Roberts from Grappenhall won the name the bear, Teddy Edward and the raffle was very well supported with prizes from the goup and the Marie Curie Warrington South team. The first prize was a beautiful cake made by Julie Carney from The CCC.
Helen said: “Thank you to all who attended and your generosity.”
