Bold plan to revive shopping centre

BOLD plans have been unveiled to revitalise Warrington’s Hatters Row shopping centre.
The borough council plans to transform the two-storey shopping arcade of Horsemarket Street into a specialist wedding and lifestyle centre.
Retail units will be made available for a rent free period of up to one year to new tenants who don’t want to be tired to a long-term lease agreement.
The council is seeking a good mix of experienced businesses and new start-ups via a “Dragon’s Den” style selection process.
Cllr Mike Hannon, deputy leader of the borough council said: “This council is committed to encouraging new businesses and revitalising the town centre, which is why we are launching this new initiative.
“We believe that making Hatters Row into a wedding and lifestyle centre will create a new identity and make it more commercially viable for the future.”
