UNLIKE many young singers Amy Rose doesn’t want the X-Factor – she just wants to sing!
Having auditioned for the TV programme once she describes it as a “complete joke” with the judging panel more interested in people embarrassing themselves than people who can actually sing.
Amy aged 21, from Great Sankey, is now working as a self employed singer, taking work on the local club and pub scene so she can achieve her dream.
She has been singing since the age of seven and has had vocal training since the age of 12 and is currently teaching herself to play guitar.
“I don’t want to be known as the girl who was on the X-Factor,” said Amy. “I just want to be known as the girl who can sing.”
She has already had one of her songs played on national radio and regular features on Radio Warrington.
She also uses her talents in the local community and has already done a charity concert for Help for Heroes as well as a Christmas party for OAPs at her local community centre.
Amy says her main influences are Jessie Jay and Pink and she is also a big fan of Tina Turner.
“I’m not really bothered about fame, I just want to sing and I am happy to do that in my local community,” she added
She can been seen performing at Mojos Tapas Bar on Sunday evenings and also has regular slots at the Bridge Bar in Latchford and The Venue in Lymm.
