Traffic delays warning

MOTORISTS are beign warned about possible delays following the start of structural works for the next five weeks on the A49 London Road between Sandy Lane in Stockton Heath and Delphfields Road in Appleton.
Hours of operation will be between 9.15am and 4pm, Monday to Friday. Resident access will be maintained as far as possible and pedestrian access at all times.
In the first week a number of footpath and kerb improvements will be made in various locations and London Road will be open to traffic while this is undertaken.
Resurfacing of the main carriageway of London Road will be carried out during the first two weeks of April, (excluding the Easter bank holiday).
London Road will be closed to traffic during working hours so the works can be carried out safely.
Temporary traffic lights and diversion routes will be in operation, the main alternative route will be via B5356 Stretton Road, Appleton Thorn, B5356 Cartridge Lane (the weight limit will be temporarily suspended), A50 Cliff Lane / Knutsford Road, A56 Chester Road / Grappenhall Road to Victoria Square and vice versa.
Local diversion route will be Lyons Lane, Broom Avenue, Witherwin Avenue, Lumb Brook Road, A56 Grappenhall Road.
Resurfacing of the junctions off London Road will be done in the following two weeks, which will involve the junctions being closed, but London Road will remain open. Traffic will be controlled using temporary traffic lights.
