Street party deadline fast approaching

TIME is running out for local residents seeking funding to help organise street parties to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, with the closing date for applications this Friday (March 30).
Warrington council is encouraging residents to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend (2-5 June) with celebrations of their own.
To help support community events throughout the county, the Westminster Foundation has donated funding to the Cheshire Community Foundation, £10,000 of which will help to fund a big lunch extravaganza and a number of local events in Warrington.
Grants of £100 will be available to individuals and groups to put on a tasty treat in their local area. The funding will support up to four events in each parish area and eight in the unparished areas. Check the council’s website ay www.warrington.gov.uk for further details or to download a funding form!
Monies will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
On Sunday June 3 the council is also planning to serve up a giant 1950’s style community event in the town centre.
