Police issue e-fit of sex attacker

POLICE have issued an e-fit in connection with an incident in Warrington when a teenage girl was indecently assaulted by a man who then exposed himself.
The incident happened at around 6.45pm on Thursday 23 February when the victim ? an 18-year-old girl ? crossed the footbridge on Whittle Hall Lane heading towards Littledale Road.
As she walked along Whittle Hall Lane she spotted a man who was stood in the bushes. As she walked past him the man jumped out of the bushes and touched her inappropriately.
The girl then turned around and the man was exposing himself to her. He then fled the scene.
The offender is described as a white man, in his 50s, around 5? 4″ tall, with short grey hair and was wearing glasses, a camouflage style jacket and jeans.
Inspector Dave Griffiths, of Warrington West Neighbourhood Policing Unit, said: “The victim was left shaken as a result of the incident. Officers are currently carrying out a number of enquiries in relation to this incident. We have stepped up patrols in the area to actively target whoever is responsible and to reassure the local community.
“We are urging people in the area to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to us immediately. We are advising members of the public, particularly lone females, to be vigilant when walking alone in the town.
“We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, knows the identity of the man or was in the area at the time and noticed anyone acting suspiciously to get in touch.”
Anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 779 of 23 February.
