Burglar was armed with knife

POLICE are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary in Warrington involving a man armed with a knife.
The incident took place on Saturday evening at around 6.30pm when two men ? one was armed with a knife – forced their way into a property in McKee Avenue and confronted the occupants before stealing items of jewellery.
The men were then seen to run from the address into a dark coloured vehicle, which was waiting outside. The car then headed off in the direction of Winwick Road.
DC Stephen Page said: “We take any incidents of this nature extremely seriously and will do all we can to trace those responsible.
“We are currently carrying out a number of lines of enquiry in relation to the incident ? including house-to-house enquiries, CCTV enquiries and any forensic enquiries.
“We are appealing for anyone who has any information, which might assist with our enquiries, to get in touch. We would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen anyone acting suspiciously or may have seen the offenders fleeing the scene to come forward.
“It is believed that the offenders ran from the address into a dark coloured vehicle, which was waiting outside. The car then headed off in the direction of Winwick Road. We would appeal to anyone who has seen the car leaving the scene or heading towards the Winwick Road area to get in touch.”
The first offender, who was armed with a knife, is described as around 6? tall, of mixed race, stocky build with dark eyes and a round face.
The man is believed to be in his 30s and had a shaved head. He spoke with a Manchester accent and was wearing a scarf, which was covering his face.
The second offender is described as white, around 6? tall, of medium build with dark shaved hair. He is believed to be aged between 30-35-years-old and also spoke with a Manchester accent.
Anyone with information in relation to the incident is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 885 of 25 February.
