Thugs attacked in early hours

POLICE at Warrington have issued an appeal for help in tracking down three thugs who attacked a man in the early hours of the morning, leaving him with a fractured cheekbone.
The attack took place at Grappenhall on Saturday, February 4, but was not reported to police until February 15.
It appeared to have been a completely unprovoked attack.
The victim, a 33-year-old man, was walking on a grass areas between Knutsford Road and Hunts Lane at about 1.30am when he was approached by three men.
He was attacked without warning, knocked to the ground and repeatedly kicked.
His attackers than ran off.
PC Lara Emmerson, who is investigating the offence, said: “The attack was sudden and violent and left the victim with a fractured cheekbone and bruising to his head. The incident took place in the early hours of the morning and we are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed what happened to come forward.
“We are also appealing for anyone who knows the identity of the offenders to contact us. We will not tolerate this type of crime in Warrington and we want to reassure the public that we will do all we can to trace those responsible and ensure they are brought to justice.”
