Awards for pubs and bars that care

SPECIAL awards for high standards of conduct and customer care are to be presented to pubs, bars and restaurants at a ceremony at Warrington Town Hall.
Eight establishments at Stockton Heath will receive the ArcAngel award on Thursday, February 9.
The award recognises the work these businesses have done together to uphold high standards of customer care and provide a safe and welcoming environment.
Premises receiving the award have also signed up to a voluntary code of conduct and have actively encouraged other establishments to engage in the scheme.
The award winning premises are: Cape, The Mulberry Tree, The Red Lion, The London Bridge, The Saracens Head, A La Turka, Le Bistrot Pierre and Tom at 101.
The ArcAngel project involves agencies working together to tackle issues in Warrington such as alcohol related crime and disorder and underage drinking.
Cllr Mike Hannon (pictured), deputy leader of Warrington Borough Council, who is a member of the ArcAngel committee, said: “This new ArcAngel award scheme aims to promote safety and customer care, not just in Stockton Heath but in all pubs across Warrington.
“Congratulations to all those establishments receiving an award for their hard work. We look forward to many more pubs getting involved in the ArcAngel initiative in the future.”
The awards will be presented by Mayor of Warrington Mike Biggin.
