ESSENTIAL maintenance work is due to start on the A56 Chester Road, Grappenhall on Monday, February 6.
The work will be carried out in sections from Hill Top Road to the A50 Knutsford Road, between 9.15am and 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, to allow motorists as much access as possible.
Work on kerbs and footpaths in various places will be done first. This is expected to take four weeks. Chester Road will remain open to traffic, with temporary traffic lights at the work areas.
The road will then be closed for resurfacing during the following two weeks and will be closed between 9.15am and 3.30pm, Monday to Friday so that the resurfacing can be done safely.
There will be a signed diversion route via Ackers Road, Hunts Lane and Knutsford Road.
Bus services will be diverted when the roads are closed. Notices will be placed on bus stops, and details will be available from Network Warrington on 01925 634296.
A spokeswoman for Warrington Borough Council said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience while we carry out these essential works.”
